About the major...

The B.S. degree in Earth Sciences provides a strong foundation for understanding the natural environment and improving the utilization and stewardship of land, water, and atmospheric resources.

The program emphasizes a wide range of disciplines in natural resources and in the cultures that use and modify them. The core of the earth sciences curriculum is composed of geology, geography, and soil science, and is strengthened by a diverse array of related technical specialties or concentrations.

Students may select from one of the following six concentrations:

  • Climate Change Studies
  • Environmental Interpretation and Assessment
  • Geology
  • Geosciences Teaching
  • Land and Water Resources
